Connecticut Trip
August 2008
WOW!! August 2008 marked our 39th
wedding anniversary so what better way to celebrate than to visit some of the
places we haven't seen since our dating days. That's about 40 years ago!!
We drove directly to Mystic Connecticut and used the area as our operations
center. Places visited:
Mystic Seaport, The Nautilus,
The Essex Steam Train and Riverboat,
The Goodspeed Opera House,
Gillette Castle, and of course sunrises and sunset
each day. This was a terrific trip for us because we were able to point
our cameras at some boats and water scenes for a change.
Here are some of the 400+ images Kathy and I took between us.......
Mystic Seaport. A must see stop while in the area. Plan on at least one full day...
Sunsets, sunrises, birds, and boats to photograph...
Mystic Connecticut. A quaint town to see. I especially enjoyed it just BEFORE sunrise. And yes, that is the "Mystic Pizza" made famous in the movie...
Gillette Castle. Stone exterior and lots of wood inside. Wooden light switches, every wood door is unique, wood window openers, etc....
Goodspeed Opera House...
Essex Steam Train and the Nautilus...
