It was time!  There were no commitments in the way for the coming weekend so we needed to go SOMEWHERE for an overnight jaunt.  Of course the spectacular forecast expected for the next couple days added to the motivation.

There were several places in Maryland that came to mind so we plotted a course that took on a big look thru the state.  The loop took us around Baltimore to northern Washington DC then west towards Frederick to Carlisle PA and back home again.  Two Civil War battlefields were along the way so we stopped at both....
